Perhaps the most important things you can do to encourage
character is to consistently be a good role model, and to let children know when
you see them display good character. Here are some other things:
Valley Character has opportunities for volunteers within all of out
committees. We accept voluntters for individual projects and are glad for the
participation. Additionally, membership on our committees is informal -- no dues
are required and there is no minimum participation level. Meetings are scheduled
when necessary, not on regular dates because we do not want to meet just to
meet; we want to meet when there is a reason to meet and a topic or project to
discuss.
Valley Character realizes there is tremndous value in volunteerism.
Therefore we encourage everyone to volunteer with the organization of your
choice. Below is a list of organizations that use volunteers or provide
community services. Feel free to contact them. Volunteerism is a vital attribute
of character, and strong character makes a strong community.

Become a Character Advocate by providing a regular "gathering
place" to meet such as your business, house of worship, sports or other social
area. Develop character-building events and projects that help others and/or
bring a sense of good character to our environment. We can assist you with ideas
of where you can help, and where to acquire more volunteer team members to jump
start your projects!

There is little more that helps a young person grow in
character and potential than having a positive role model and mentor who truly
shows interest and caring. For more information on how to become a mentor,
please contact us.

You could work directly as one of our committee
members or one of their special “project task forces” by attending meetings and
working together on projects that bring success and growth to the Valley
Character Organization so that we can grow closer towards our goals. Work on a
specific program, and join us today.
